This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with the Community Manager to gain insights into the market and prioritize effective communication strategies.
• Assist in the planning and execution of events such as parties, local meet-ups, and happy hours.
• Develop and organize social media content that aligns with regional objectives for channel growth and engagement.
• Aid in the upkeep of Yelp’s local online business listings by flagging inappropriate photos, identifying media alerts and scams, and ensuring the accuracy of business information.
• Interact with Yelpers through the Yelp app and website to foster online community development.
• Must be a current college student, a college graduate, or someone looking to transition into a community building position.
• Must currently reside in San Francisco, CA.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Should possess local knowledge of the area and have a keen interest in small businesses.
• Must have experience and enthusiasm for planning and coordinating events.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
• Experience in social media copywriting and asset coordination is required.
• Familiarity with Yelp’s applications is a plus.
• Availability to work between 10–19 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend shifts.
• Must be able to lift 10 pounds without assistance.
• 6-month development program.
• A cohort of peers from across the US and Canada.
• One-on-one mentorship from a local Community Manager.
• Hands-on experience in social media management, event planning, and online community building.
