This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Oversee and organize school-wide community engagement activities for students and their families.
• Create a schedule of in-person outings, virtual events, family activities, and other opportunities for connection throughout the academic year.
• Discover innovative methods to boost participation among students and families in the MGLVA community.
• Collaborate with different grade levels and departments to ensure that engagement opportunities are both accessible and relevant.
• Act as a friendly point of contact during school-sponsored events and activities.
• Establish relationships with families and collect feedback regarding their interests, needs, and barriers to participation.
• Foster a sense of belonging, connection, satisfaction, and long-term engagement with MGLVA among families.
• Promote events and engagement opportunities through the school's communication channels.
• Manage MGLVA's presence on Facebook, Instagram, LC Community, and other approved platforms.
• Capture and disseminate positive stories, activities, celebrations, and experiences that highlight the school community.
• Collaborate with school leadership and teams on marketing and visibility initiatives that align with community engagement efforts.
• Motivate staff to identify and share narratives that showcase student achievements and family involvement.
• Monitor participation and engagement trends to assess initiatives and propose enhancements.
• Advocate for school culture so that students and families perceive MGLVA as a connected community.
• Must be a resident of Michigan.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field, along with two years of experience working with families in a similar role, developing parent mentors/Learning Coaches, and/or facilitating community involvement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass the required background check.
• Familiarity with the online learning environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Web proficiency is essential.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Three years of experience in a similar role, working with families, developing parent mentors/parent training, and/or facilitating community involvement.
• Remote position based from home.
