This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, compose, and refine regular SPD/CCPI communication products, which include social media content, materials to support press releases, and one-pagers, for review by senior staff and approval from the Government.
• Offer technical writing and editing assistance across task-order deliverables.
• Collect and assess information related to programs, pilots, and policies, converting it into clear, precise, and audience-appropriate documentation.
• Conduct organized quality-control evaluations of written outputs for grammar, factual accuracy, terminology, voice, and style.
• Validate quantitative assertions, representations of program status, and referenced citations against authoritative source materials.
• Edit and format reports, briefing documents, and presentations to comply with Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Prepare and format weekly team updates along with weekly briefing deck compilations.
• Manage the weekly communications tracker, documenting product status, review cycles, and distribution logs.
• Assist with the monthly refresh of outreach materials by drafting and revising communication content.
• Provide writing and editing assistance for meeting agendas, minutes, and status report narratives.
• Deliver general writing, editing, and administrative support to the communications team and carry out additional tasks as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Communications, Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or a closely related discipline is mandatory.
• At least 4 years of experience in communications, technical writing/editing, public relations, or a similar support role is required.
• Proven experience in technical writing and editing, along with the ability to gather, analyze, and convert complex or technical information into clear, accurate documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Background in drafting or editing communication materials such as social media posts, press releases, one-pagers, newsletters, or briefing documents for review and approval.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with a keen focus on detail, factual precision, deadlines, and consistency in voice, terminology, and formatting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential.
• Experience in formatting documents to adhere to Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Capability to work efficiently within set timelines, templates, and Government review processes in a fast-paced federal environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential and successfully pass a VA background check.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required (no visa sponsorship available).
