This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and refine content for infection control guidelines, recommendations, training resources, web content, policy statements, and reports.
• Work collaboratively with communications, policy, and scientific teams to produce educational materials, talking points, promotional content, blogs, policy statements, reports, presentations, and online resources.
• Ensure all materials are grounded in scientific evidence and tailored to the target audience.
• Coordinate significant announcements and awareness campaigns alongside communications, web, and media teams.
• Partner with collaborators to design graphics, videos, images, infographics, and posters.
• Generate source materials and key messages for creative collaborators.
• Work with agency staff and external partners to disseminate guidelines and recommendations.
• Maintain relationships with external partners during outbreak situations.
• Ensure message and material consistency aligns with partner recommendations.
• Adhere to best practices for health education, risk communication, plain language, and communication policies.
• Assist in formative research, and in gathering, organizing, and editing metrics.
• Analyze data to derive actionable solutions.
• Create and review content for reports, presentations, websites, social media, policy, and partnership outreach.
• Represent the communications team in meetings, providing updates and summaries.
• Prioritize and craft responses to inquiries.
• Identify, research, and address problems or issues that arise.
• Engage in team strategy discussions, recommending updates to analysis and outreach strategies.
• Format and distribute messages via Adobe Campaign or other email subscription platforms.
• Format and publish blog entries.
• Moderate comments on blog posts.
• Utilize SharePoint for workflow management and task tracking.
• Comply with Section 508 guidelines in the preparation of electronic documents and utilize compliance checklists.
• Prior experience as an editor and in communications is required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in plain language writing.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work as a team player.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially advanced Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
• Excellent multi-tasking and organizational abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks while adapting to changing priorities and new initiatives.
• Project management experience is essential.
• Previous experience with CDC programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain government clearance.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without future employer sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications, English, or Public Health.
• Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
