This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee communications for a set of regional campaigns throughout the western United States.
• Act as the main communications partner for initiatives in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Kansas, and Idaho.
• Create and manage press releases, media statements, blog entries, digital content, talking points, messaging documents, social media posts, email campaigns, and campaign toolkits.
• Coordinate communication strategies across various channels to ensure consistent messaging and integrated campaign execution.
• Craft engaging campaign content and storytelling materials in collaboration with program and media teams.
• Address rapid-response communication needs effectively.
• Incorporate communication strategies into campaign planning, decision-making processes, and execution.
• Formulate communication plans that encompass earned media, digital engagement, web content, and storytelling.
• Identify chances to enhance campaign visibility, influence decision-makers, and engage critical audiences.
• Create timelines, work plans, and implementation schedules for campaign communications.
• Coordinate deliverables among staff, colleagues, consultants, and external partners.
• Maintain project management systems to ensure deliverables are on track.
• Monitor the effectiveness of communications and recognize opportunities to amplify impact.
• Share insights, lessons learned, and best practices.
• Contribute to communications reporting and evaluations of campaigns.
• Aid in enhancing communications planning, coordination, and operations.
• Engage in ongoing personal learning and contribute to organization-wide development.
• Integrate equity into organizational practices, culture, and programs.
• Report to the Deputy Director of Regional Campaign Communications.
• Four to seven years of experience in communications, public affairs, advocacy, journalism, marketing, or a relevant demonstrated track record.
• Proven experience in developing and executing integrated communications campaigns for advocacy, policy, political, nonprofit, or issue-based initiatives across traditional and digital media platforms.
• Excellent writing, editing, and message development abilities.
• Ability to distill complex policy issues into engaging public-facing communications.
• Familiarity with state legislative, regulatory, or public policy campaigns.
• Understanding of clean energy, climate policy, environmental advocacy, or related issue areas.
• A personal commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
• Dedication to developing personal and interpersonal skills related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

• Position is remote within the United States.
• Some national travel may be required.
