Communications Graphic Designer – Student

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Develop marketing and recruitment materials, such as email graphics, brochures, flyers, and promotional items for Stone Lab courses and programs.

• Create educational displays and exhibit materials focused on fisheries, invasive species, water quality, wetlands, and Great Lakes ecosystems.

• Revise and update publications in accordance with Ohio State brand standards and best practices for ADA accessibility.

• Generate graphics and visual storytelling components for social media, websites, digital communications, and outreach initiatives.

• Produce animations and motion graphics related to scientific research and environmental subjects.

• Collaborate with communicators, researchers, educators, and other creative professionals to turn complex research into engaging visuals and multimedia content.

• Assist in the layout and design of fact sheets, posters, presentations, and outreach materials.

• Compile ebooks from multiple publications.

• Current student status in graphic design is indicated by the role title and job posting description.

• A portfolio or 3–5 design samples is required.

• Submission of a resume is necessary.

• A cover letter must be included.

• Knowledge of or capacity to implement Ohio State brand standards and ADA accessibility best practices.

• Proficiency in creating digital and print designs, as well as animations and motion graphics.

• Final candidates are required to successfully complete a background check.

• A drug screening or physical examination may be necessary as part of the post-offer process.
