Communications Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Monitor, compile, and circulate daily and monthly press coverage reports that emphasize the Academy brand.

• Identify inaccuracies or significant coverage as necessary.

• Maintain and refresh media lists by researching new outlets and contacts.

• Act as the primary contact for incoming media inquiries, conducting preliminary research and directing requests to the suitable team member.

• Assist in corporate communications initiatives, including executive talking points, brand messaging, interview briefs, and thought leadership.

• Collaborate with the communications team to secure press coverage for events, campaigns, and organizational initiatives.

• Organize credentialing, event logistics, and on-site operations during Grammy Week and other events throughout the year.

• Aid in the review, creation, and distribution of press materials, such as press releases and media alerts.

• Assist in scheduling and logistics for media interviews.

• Maintain and contribute to the department's PR/media editorial calendar.

• Utilize MuckRack, BusinessWire, and Marketing Cloud for monitoring press and distributing materials.

• Provide support across the communications team and assist with special projects within the Marketing & Communications Department.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

• 1-2 years of experience in Communications or Public Relations.

• Strong writing, research, and organizational abilities.

• Comfortable working with media databases and tracking tools.

• Excellent PowerPoint presentation capabilities.

• Strong prioritization, time management, and multitasking skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Adaptable with the capacity to manage shifting priorities and changing circumstances effortlessly.

• Self-motivated with the ability to resolve issues and excel in a fast-paced team environment.

• Collaborative team player willing to assist with on-site event operations, including some evening and weekend work as necessary.

• Capability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and work at a computer for prolonged durations.

• Required to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
