Communications Associate I – Proofreader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Create editorial content for marketing publications and digital media at Cleveland Clinic.

• Conduct secondary research to assist in the development of publications.

• Strategize, create, and implement communication materials for administrative, clinical, research, and educational departments.

• Write and edit content for speeches, websites, newsletters, brochures, direct mail campaigns, displays, and other marketing collateral.

• Work closely with client areas and graphic designers to establish the appropriate visual presentation of the text.

• Review and proofread editorial content for Cleveland Clinic's digital marketing initiatives.

• Ensure all content aligns with the Cleveland Clinic brand voice and tone.

• Verify that the copy is grammatically correct and adheres to AP style guidelines.

• Collaborate with the writing team to address any copy-related inquiries.

• Independently manage an assignment dashboard and ensure timely completion of projects.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a closely related field.

• Preferred experience in communications or marketing roles, including writing, editing, researching, or preparing materials for publication.

• Preferred experience in proofreading for online or print publications.

• Preferred familiarity with style guides.

• High proficiency in using a PC/word processor to produce materials.

• Normal or corrected vision is required.

• Ability to sit frequently and walk to meetings as necessary.

• Must participate in the annual influenza prevention program through vaccination or an approved exemption.
