This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the communications team while cultivating a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to formulate and implement communication strategies that align with organizational initiatives and business objectives.
• Provide strategic advice on messaging, communication planning, audience engagement, and change management communications.
• Supervise internal communication channels, employee engagement communications, communication planning, and content creation.
• Manage member communications across various channels, converting business needs into clear, timely, and member-centric messaging.
• Direct public relations activities, including media relations, storytelling, reputation management, and community visibility.
• Assist in crisis communication planning and ensure effective communication during sensitive or high-impact situations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of communications and continuously enhance communication processes, channels, and outcomes.
• Craft organizational messaging that promotes employee engagement, member education, change initiatives, and business goals.
• Establish relationships with media outlets, community partners, and external stakeholders.
• Act as a strategic advisor on media engagement, public messaging, and reputation management.
• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public relations, media relations, internal communications, or a related field.
• Proven success in leading people, projects, or cross-functional communication initiatives.
• Outstanding writing, editing, storytelling, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in developing strategic communication plans, employee communications, media materials, and stakeholder messaging.
• Strong capability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with audiences at all levels of an organization.
• Knowledge of media relations, reputation management, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement practices.
• Experience with communication analytics, intranet platforms, project management tools, or related communication technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a closely related field required, along with demonstrated experience driving measurable business outcomes.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
