Commodity Sourcing Leader – Fluid Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate a sourcing strategy for the designated site/P&L aimed at achieving variable cost efficiency, cash flow, and controllership objectives.

• Lead or assist in the global supplier selection, qualification, development, and comprehensive supplier management.

• Oversee the complete contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit.

• Assess and manage pivot-to-value initiatives alongside Sourcing teams.

• Collaborate with Engineering on program timelines, cost optimization, resource allocation assessments, and VCP enhancement.

• Mitigate GE's risk exposure by ensuring that customer requirements are communicated effectively to suppliers.

• Implement cost reduction initiatives through contract negotiations, process modifications, and sustainable cost management.

• Work with Finance to confirm project and contract negotiation effects on the general ledger.

• Cultivate technical and market knowledge in the global commodity sector.

• Establish and implement business policies while enhancing procurement processes.

• Streamline Sourcing resources to improve the overall customer experience.

• Identify and execute direct material productivity initiatives in collaboration with Engineering.

• Ensure compliance with fulfillment and quality standards in partnership with Engineering, buyers, and sourcing quality engineers.

• Coordinate with Logistics and Commercial teams regarding regional capacity, transportation expenses, and localization needs.

• Evaluate supplier capabilities and oversee supplier performance management.

• Negotiate costs without compromising the quality of goods and services.

• Engage in companywide strategic sourcing initiatives while collaborating with other GE business sourcing teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

• At least 5 years of commercial experience in Sourcing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Engineering, and/or Supply Chain.

• Previous sourcing experience including negotiations, opportunity identification, supplier selection, sourcing strategy development, and contract implementation.

• Excellent quantitative and data analysis capabilities.

• Strong project management and process improvement competencies.

• Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Experience in process leadership roles such as CAP, Work-Out, process improvement, or quality management.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
