Commissioning Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage the testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and BESS power distribution equipment.

• Supervise NETA-based testing procedures, such as Megger, VOC Testing, VLF, and TTR.

• Oversee the startup, energization, and troubleshooting of both AC and DC components at solar and BESS installations.

• Review electrical diagrams, schematics, and one-line diagrams to ensure installation quality and address field engineering challenges.

• Collaborate with construction leads, SCADA teams, and utility partners regarding system integration and communication protocols.

• Review and finalize commissioning documentation, test results, and turnover packages.

• Enforce safety measures, adhere to NEC/NFPA 70E codes, and comply with site-specific requirements.

• Manage and audit LOTO energy isolation procedures effectively.

• Assist the Commissioning Director with resource planning, scheduling, and progress reporting across various project sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or senior technical position focused on commissioning electrical systems within the solar, BESS, or utility/industrial sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of electrical testing techniques, specialized equipment, and NETA standards.

• Strong skills in interpreting control logic, advanced technical diagrams, and protective relay settings.

• Proven experience in managing field execution, including troubleshooting, team coordination, and project reporting.

• Excellent communication abilities to manage relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across various states.

• Capability to lead the testing and commissioning processes for medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and BESS power distribution equipment.

• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70E electrical codes and LOTO procedures.
