This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
β’ Implement commissioning processes and deliverables in line with ASHRAE commissioning standards and guidelines throughout all phases of the project.
β’ Oversee the installation of electrical and mechanical equipment, conduct component startup inspections, perform pre-functional testing, and validate integrated systems.
β’ Work collaboratively with Owners, Contractors, Inspectors, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), Engineers of Record, Vendors, and Manufacturers.
β’ Identify and resolve critical issues related to mechanical and electrical equipment, document findings, and coordinate solutions.
β’ Manage multiple simultaneous commissioning activities and maintain stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
β’ Create and assess L1-L5 commissioning test scripts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Method of Procedures (MOPs) for data center systems.
β’ Execute network diagnostic testing, heat load testing, scenario testing, and integrated systems testing.
β’ Conduct reviews of design drawings, specifications, and submittals with a focus on commissioning.
β’ Generate daily, weekly, and monthly commissioning reports for clients and compile project documentation into Systems Manuals.
β’ A minimum of 5-7 years of applicable engineering and/or field-testing experience (5 years for Mid-Level, 7 years for Senior Level positions).
β’ At least 3-5 years of experience providing third-party commissioning services for data center construction projects (3 years for Mid-Level, 5 years for Senior Level).
β’ Proven experience as an Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Controls third-party Commissioning Engineer (or Commissioning Lead/Project Manager) on data center projects with capacities exceeding 25+MW.
β’ Strong skills in MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, along with excellent data management abilities.
β’ Proficient in utilizing testing meters and equipment such as Power Quality Meters (PQM), thermography, NETA tests, ground tests, hi-pot, and megger.
β’ In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with testing Transformers, UPS systems, Generators, Switchgear, Chillers (both air and water cooled), CRACs/CRAHs, liquid cooling systems (CDUs), and monitoring/control systems.
β’ Familiarity with QA/QC and commissioning software applications including BIM360, CxAlloy, Facility Grid, and other related platforms.
β’ Willingness to travel overnight up to 40% within the USA and Canada.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong project management and coordination capabilities.
β’ Must have authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
