This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Execute commissioning responsibilities in a client-facing capacity
• Manage commissioning procedures for building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and similar systems from initial design through functional testing and post-occupancy phases
• Provide support for intricate renovation and new construction initiatives
• Ensure that systems are designed, installed, and functioning in alignment with the basis of design and specified requirements
• Review and validate MEP design documents, construction submittals, and operational sequences
• Organize, lead, and document commissioning meetings for projects
• Develop comprehensive system checklists and functional performance operational tests
• Perform site inspections and create reports from site observation visits
• Oversee onsite testing and monitoring of complex and integrated systems
• Identify and proactively resolve issues with contractors, engineers, and clients
• Produce professionally formatted reports and project deliverables
• Collaborate under the guidance of senior staff on complex projects while independently leading commissioning teams on less complicated assignments
• Serve the regional Midwest areas with approximately 75% travel involved
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related building science, along with two years of relevant experience, or five years of equivalent work in MEP systems
• Understanding of MEP systems installation and functionality
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency in technical writing and meticulous document formatting
• Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to independently manage ongoing tasks and project documentation
• Capability to manage tasks and scope within specified budgets
• Ability to understand, analyze, and interpret intricate construction documents and building control systems
• Skill in troubleshooting building system operations and navigating complex project team dynamics
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, including detailed formatting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the processing and analysis of substantial amounts of BAS trend data
• Experience with network file management
• Competence in editing PDF documents
• Ability to create formatted layouts is preferred
• Previous experience with commissioning online software is preferred
• Passage of the FE exam and progress towards obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
• LEED AP certification and progress towards commissioning certifications such as CxA, CCP, or BCxP is preferred
• Must be located near a major metropolitan airport
• Preferred cities include Chicago, Louisville, Cincinnati, Nashville, and St. Louis; others may be considered
