Commissioning Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site inspections, validation, testing, and verification of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Engage in factory witness testing and monitor startup operations.

• Utilize technical equipment to execute testing and functional assessments of equipment, along with electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

• Diagnose issues within system components.

• Assist in the formulation of commissioning plans.

• Create pre-functional checklists and scripts for functional performance tests.

• Evaluate shop drawings, submittals, sequences of operations, construction-related design documents, and specifications.

• Contribute to commissioning-focused design assessments.

• Compile project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Aid in the preparation of the final commissioning report.

• Track personal hours utilizing company tools.

• Complete assigned responsibilities and deliverables punctually and within budget.

• Collaborate with vendors and project teams while taking ownership of specific testing tasks under supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field, or a minimum of two years’ experience in installation, hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, controls, and/or electrical infrastructure.

• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control system principles.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• Outstanding organizational and file-management abilities.

• Capacity to complete tasks accurately with a strong attention to detail.

• Ability to utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and optimize operational processes.

• Capability to thrive in a remote work environment through effective communication, organization, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness.

• Adherence to company and site safety protocols.

• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.

• Strong oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical information.

• Capacity to work independently with supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to obtain NFPA 70E and/or OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications as necessary.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Must reside near a major airport.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 75%, potentially across any or all 50 US states.

• Valid driver's license and ability to rent vehicles.

• Must acquire a valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport, for business air travel effective May 7, 2025.

• Ability to frequently manipulate, move, or grasp small parts, devices, or tools.

• Capability to frequently remain stationary, navigate through critical facilities and varying temperatures/weather, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, and access tight or confined spaces.

• Ability to occasionally position oneself under or over equipment and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
