This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.
• Provide support for the Special Assets commercial loan portfolio under the guidance of one or more SAM Commercial Resolutions Officers and Team Leads.
• Evaluate financial data for renewals, modifications, forbearance requests, and ongoing management of the portfolio.
• Assemble comprehensive commercial loan packages, which include credit memos, analyses of borrowers and guarantors, risk assessments, risk grades, and recommendations.
• Conduct additional credit analysis utilizing tools such as CRE analysis software.
• Navigate loan requests through the Credit Approval Process while ensuring the appropriate loan structure is in place.
• Guarantee that commercial loan relationships adhere to State and Federal regulations as well as Bank policies.
• Oversee and service portfolios by performing covenant testing, conducting annual servicing reviews, generating criticized loan asset reports, and clearing exceptions.
• Identify potential upgrades for the portfolio and suggest adjustments to risk grades.
• Assist in preparing credit presentations for Credit Administration, leadership, and Bank committees.
• Confirm that all necessary loan documentation is complete and aid in resolving any documentation or compliance issues.
• Engage with customers periodically to obtain financial information as directed by the CRO or TL.
• Foster relationships with internal business partners, attorneys, appraisers, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor loans approaching maturity and undertake special projects as assigned.
• Stay informed about fair lending, BSA, AML, CIP, OFAC, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Participate in professional training and cross-training opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; graduation from a recognized banking school is advantageous or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, or business banking.
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated portfolio management and/or underwriting experience.
• Required familiarity with loan structuring and loan documentation.
• Solid understanding of accounting and lending principles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and Bank policies regarding lending procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, nCino, and Fiserv.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be well-organized, precise, detail-oriented, cooperative, and capable of performing under pressure.
• Completion of required annual compliance training and New Employee Orientation is mandatory.
• Must have a secure home office free from background noise and distractions.
• Reliable private internet connection is necessary, preferably cable or fiber, not provided by cellular data.
• Ability to access and interpret computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations; position may involve bending and reaching.
