This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Collaborate with restaurant and hospitality managers to provide comprehensive service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and specialty food service equipment.
• Exhibit mechanical aptitude, troubleshoot equipment, and interpret diagrams and schematics.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and specialty food service devices.
• Liaise with manufacturers for diagnostics and parts identification.
• Consult with the Technical Assistance Group for on-site technical support.
• Install customer-ordered parts promptly and professionally in accordance with company policy.
• Promote and suggest additional Smart Care services as necessary.
• Generate accurate and timely work orders, time reports, receipts, and truck stock inventory documentation.
• Adhere to safe work practices and accident prevention protocols.
• Keep a tidy service vehicle and maintain accurate parts and tool inventory.
• Sustain productivity levels in alignment with company standards.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or pertinent military service.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Willingness and capability to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.
• Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Capability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and face the risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions.
• Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and other elevated surfaces.
• Preferred: relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications such as EPA or CFESA.
• Preferred: experience in commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repair.
• Preferred: self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• On-the-job training with access to on-demand technical support.
• Continuous formal hands-on and classroom training at the National Training Kitchen.
