Commercial Field Adjuster, Property Large Loss

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate commercial property claims across all distribution channels.

• Manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate, and resolve claims typically exceeding $1M or involving specialized losses.

• Collaborate with and direct internal and external legal counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers, and engineers.

• Verify coverage, establish liability, and evaluate damages.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to regional file handlers.

• Educate team members on handling complex claims.

• Partner with Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and other stakeholders to identify risks, hazards, and trends.

• Share insights and lessons learned.

• Offer customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.

• Achieve key performance metrics related to loss development, loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control, and expense management.

• Foster best-practice operations within a creative, continuous-improvement environment.

• Participate in settlement conferences and trials.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the direct management of large and complex commercial property claims.

• At least 5 years of pertinent field experience, including on-site investigations and property damage assessments.

• Comprehensive understanding of all relevant regulatory and legal standards applicable to the role.

• Bachelor's Degree or CIP designation is considered an asset.

• Travel is necessary.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

• Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada starting from the anticipated date of employment and throughout their tenure.

• Capability to manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate, and resolve large and complex commercial property claims.

• Proficiency in engaging and managing counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers, and engineers.

• Ability to mentor, guide, provide technical advice, and train colleagues on the intricacies of complex claims handling.
