This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Provide efficient, effective, and prompt facilities maintenance services to various clients within a designated geographic area.
• Travel to different customer locations using a company van to maintain commercial properties.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Foster face-to-face relationships with customers to address their service needs.
• Utilize diverse trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, roofing, and HVAC.
• Execute preventive maintenance and repairs as outlined in work orders.
• Conduct minor plumbing tasks, which include unclogging toilets and drains, fixing leaks, and replacing fixtures.
• Undertake routine painting and carpentry to ensure the upkeep of client facilities.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance permissible without a license according to state regulations.
• Carry out service and asset evaluations.
• Use tablets and smartphones to access and complete work orders, submit service reports and inspection images, as well as timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs.
• Procure necessary materials and supplies for tasks.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain communication with customers and internal support teams.
• Complete safety and compliance training while attending weekly safety meetings.
• Provide estimates for larger projects and services sought by onsite customers.
• Handle daily repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance as assigned.
• High School diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.), or Specialty Floor Care is preferred.
• Two (2) to Five (5) years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, is required; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Relevant work experience in one or more of the building trades.
• Applicable certifications and licenses.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals.
• Capability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Proficiency in effectively presenting information in both individual and small group settings.
• Ability to complete assigned work orders promptly and communicate updates on work order status.
• Skill in using handheld devices and business systems or document management database software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, MS Word, and Excel.
• Compliance with relevant building operation, regulatory, governmental, company, and safety directives.
• Understanding of OSHA standards and Company safety policies.
• Experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Willingness to travel locally between properties on a daily basis.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including the capacity to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Capability to drive a company vehicle daily.
• Proficient in using required safety equipment and adhering to OSHA lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines.
