Commercial Counsel

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of Monarch's business model, essential relationships, products, and historical context.

• Learn how Monarch develops, markets, and scales its products, including the involvement of legal teams.

• Acquaint yourself with important regulatory and compliance frameworks.

• Familiarize yourself with the company's operational style, objectives, mission, and core values.

• Cultivate relationships with team members.

• Act as the legal partner facilitating complex commercial agreements.

• Translate intricate legal concepts into straightforward language.

• Offer strategic legal advice to promote responsible growth for the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in commercial and corporate law.

• Strong preference for candidates with in-house experience and a history of negotiating with major corporations.

• Must be admitted to a state bar or eligible to register as in-house counsel.

• An interest in or current use of generative AI tools is preferred.

• Capability to distill complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.

• Proficiency in using regulatory guidance, professional networks, Slack, journals, books, search tools, and law firms for research.

• Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management tools such as Ironclad or Zip (preferred).

• Experience negotiating with Fortune 500 companies and startups (preferred).

• Background in privacy law, including GLBA and state privacy regulations (preferred).
