This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver legal services to internal business units by addressing routine inquiries and matters.
• Take the lead in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing intricate commercial agreements.
• Assess contract terms, risk factors, regulatory issues, and business goals.
• Formulate negotiation strategies, methods, and procedures for new or complex tasks.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on commercial, operational, and regulatory issues.
• Coordinate with legal, sales, operations, finance, compliance, privacy, security, and other business functions.
• Create and enhance contract templates, standard terms, negotiation playbooks, policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Address complex contracting challenges and escalations.
• Support strategic transactions, partnerships, renewals, amendments, terminations, and other business initiatives.
• Draft legal summaries, termination analyses, risk assessments, correspondence, and additional documents.
• Stay informed on legal, regulatory, industry, and business developments.
• Collaborate with senior business stakeholders and external counsel.
• Mentor business partners and less experienced team members on contracting issues.
• Maintain records of contracts, track statuses, and generate reports.
• Fulfill performance review responsibilities, undertake special projects, and complete other assigned tasks.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or an equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Over 6 years of legal experience with a law firm or corporate legal department focusing on contract matters.
• Capability to work remotely with minimal disruptions to the workday.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the legal and business aspects of complex contracts.
• Experience in healthcare, technology, and/or professional services is preferred.
• Background in handling and negotiating contracts and related agreements is advantageous.
• Proficiency in defining problems, consolidating relevant information, establishing facts, and drawing and defending valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws and government regulations with the support of in-house counsel.
• Capability to work independently on matters within the scope of the position.
• Strong PC skills, especially with the MS Office Suite of applications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers.
• Strong judgment and ability to evaluate risk in alignment with business objectives.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Must have high-speed internet access/connectivity and a dedicated office setup and maintenance.
