This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Solicit bids for appraisal and valuation services as required.
• Engage fee appraisers to carry out appraisal and valuation assignments.
• Conduct independent reviews of real estate appraisal and valuation reports, and prepare Standard 3 or compliance reviews.
• Ensure that appraisals are reasonable, supported, credible, and compliant with federal and state regulations as well as professional appraisal standards.
• Verify that appraisals adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures for commercial real estate appraisal.
• Assist with internal and external audits, ad hoc projects, and analytical tasks.
• Enhance understanding of commercial real estate valuation topics, trends, and developments by participating in industry events and seminars.
• Act as a resource for third-party appraisal vendors and appraisal management companies.
• Provide guidance to Bank colleagues regarding appraisal and real estate valuation issues.
• Maintain appropriate licensing through continuing education or qualifying education.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education — Required.
• Over 5 years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal and valuation, appraisal review, or review experience within a regulated financial institution — Required.
• State Certified General Appraiser license in good standing — Required.
• Familiarity with industry standards and practices, including compliance and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products.
• Strong analytical abilities, customer service orientation, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Capacity to take initiative and escalate issues when necessary.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with flexibility in working hours to meet irregular demands and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
• Experience with appraisal management software (i.e., C360, RIMS, etc.) — Preferred.
• Experience in financial modeling of commercial property types using ARGUS Enterprise software — Preferred.
