This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Support a caseload of students and families throughout the HelloCollege program.

• Ensure that each student successfully completes the program and meets their college planning objectives.

• Manage a maximum of 150 students in accordance with the HelloCollege program framework and counselor service level agreements.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of high school curricula, extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, summer program applications, and standardized testing strategies.

• Contribute to the gathering of referrals, testimonials, and online reviews.

• Conduct formal consulting sessions with students every two months and provide notes and action items to relevant stakeholders.

• Communicate with students and families outside of formal sessions using channels such as email.

• Assist in managing partnerships with schools and organizations.

• Establish positive and enduring relationships with families.

• Track communications and update client records in the CRM system.

• Facilitate and lead up to four online workshops each month.

• Stay informed about trends in higher education and college planning.

• Engage in team meetings, knowledge sharing, shadowing, and mentoring activities.

• Contribute to fostering a positive company culture and supporting company growth.

• Report directly to the Director of Counseling.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or College Counseling certification is required.

• Experience in highly selective college counseling, college admissions, school counseling, or student advising is essential.

• Extensive knowledge of selective, highly selective, and Ivy League-level U.S. colleges and universities is necessary.

• Ability to connect with students and parents from various academic, ethnic/racial, and financial backgrounds.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Capability to work collaboratively and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Strong case management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, attention to detail, and task prioritization.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

• Ability to quickly grasp new programs and systems.

• Experience in public speaking and event facilitation is expected.

• An outgoing personality, high energy, and excellent virtual presence are essential.

• A passion for assisting students in achieving improved outcomes is critical.

• Highly motivated and results-oriented, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals.

• Experience working with students with learning differences is preferred.

• Typical schedule from 12 to 8:30 PM CST.

• Preference for applicants in the CST, MST, and PST time zones.

• Workload varies by season, with peak activity from April to December.
