Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Reach out to customers through phone, fax, email, or traditional mail to update accounts to current status.

• Complete tasks assigned by the system within specified timeframes.

• Reconcile and allocate customer payments recorded on accounts.

• Track overdue accounts using the collector dashboard and address high-priority tasks.

• Investigate billing issues and misallocated payments, escalating complex problems as necessary.

• Identify challenges and problem accounts affecting the portfolio, and communicate any systemic or recurring issues.

• Process payments from overdue customers and negotiate payment plans or settlements.

• Collaborate with management and/or sales to expedite the resolution of customer issues and outstanding receivables.

• Record actions taken on assigned accounts within the system application.

• Address inquiries and requests from Sales, Customer Service, Billing, and Controllership.

• Initiate or execute write-offs, bad debt recoveries, and credit memos in accordance with procedures and authority levels.

• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as they arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a High School diploma or GED.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of collections transactions and processes.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections or a related field required.

• Eligible candidates should reside in the Northeast region: PA, NJ, DE, MA, or WV.
