Collections Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on overdue account balances that are either fully or partially unpaid.

• Follow up via mail and/or phone with insurance providers or customers regarding outstanding payments.

• Review claims that are unpaid or underpaid, and resubmit or appeal them as required.

• Verify adjustments to payment information and report to the supervisor.

• Coordinate collection efforts for overdue accounts by preparing necessary information for external collection agencies or attorneys.

• Adhere to the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act (FDCPA).

• Address customer inquiries concerning account status.

• Investigate customer accounts and document findings appropriately.

• Resolve discrepancies and prepare any necessary adjustments and refunds.

• Accurately input collection activity details into the billing system.

• Report recurring issues to the department supervisor.

• Initiate payments and resubmit bills as required.

• Pursue patient payment responsibilities when insurance defaults, in accordance with legal or contractual obligations.

• Maintain consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance.

• Carry out additional duties as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma is mandatory.

• A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.

• Basic proficiency in Word and Excel is necessary.

• Strong English skills (reading, writing, and verbal).

• Basic mathematical proficiency, with a strong capability to understand, interpret, and develop spreadsheet data.

• Physically capable of executing the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations available.

• Must reside and work within the United States.

• Occasional travel may be required.
