Collections Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure accurate billing of customer accounts and guarantee prompt payment processing.

• Take swift action on matters relating to account integrity.

• Follow up with payers to promote a seamless cash flow.

• Respond to inquiries from customers, clerical staff, and insurance companies.

• Identify and address patient billing concerns.

• Manage customer collection calls effectively.

• Record activities in the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner.

• Confirm that billing activities are conducted correctly.

• Provide insights to the Group Team Lead, Supervisor, and Manager regarding account-related issues.

• Perform routine tasks following clearly established guidelines.

• Contribute to specific goals and outcomes as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or a related field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Exceptional communication skills along with proper phone and email etiquette.

• Capable of reading, understanding, and following both oral and written instructions.

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance HCPC/ICD-9 codes.

• Ability to assess and obtain necessary prescriptions, prior authorizations, and medical justifications to ensure claim payments.

• Competence in editing and resubmitting claims for payment.

• Skill in preparing and reviewing clean claims for submission to various insurers, either electronically or via paper.
