Collaborating Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee clinical operations, delegate protocols, and provide consultative support for Vynca's Advanced Practice Providers delivering home-based palliative and serious illness care throughout Georgia.

• Act as either delegating or supervising physician for a combined total of up to eight nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

• Create, review, and maintain written nurse protocol agreements, ensuring compliance with the Georgia Composite Medical Board's filing requirements.

• Be readily available for consultation during care delivery or appoint a qualified backup physician when necessary.

• Review and endorse 100% of records related to controlled substance prescriptions and personally assess or examine those members at least once every quarter.

• Review and approve all patient records that involve adverse outcomes within 30 days of their occurrence.

• Annually review and sign at least 10% of all other patient records.

• Conduct quarterly medical record evaluations and meetings with APRNs to ensure quality of care.

• Virtually observe the practice of each nurse practitioner at least once a year.

• Assist in symptom management, advance care planning, and determining goals of care.

• Delegate the authority to pronounce death and sign death certificates where clinically appropriate and permitted.

• Offer guidance on controlled substance management, including risk assessment, patient counseling, PDMP review, and naloxone co-prescribing standards.

• Maintain a principal practice location within Georgia or within 50 miles of the sites where protocol agreements are in effect.

• Inform the Board of any termination of agreements within 10 business days and ensure continuity during physician transitions.

• Engage in clinical governance, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.

• Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in Georgia (MD or DO) in good standing.

• Principal medical practice must be located within the State of Georgia.

• Board certification in a specialty that aligns with the delegated responsibilities is required.

• Active DEA registration is necessary.

• Proven experience in supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers, preferably in home-based or serious illness care settings.

• Familiarity with value-based care and regulations pertaining to Georgia nurse protocol and physician assistant supervision is essential.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Completion of identity and work eligibility verification via E-Verify is required upon hiring.

• Influenza vaccination is mandatory for roles involving patient, client, or customer interaction, subject to possible religious or medical accommodations.
