This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Assist with the Living Cancer program, encompassing GYN, surgical, GI, hematology, infusion, and oncology services.
• Act as a subject matter expert in at least one area of specialization, such as oncology, gynecology, surgical coding, or infusion coding.
• Assign CPT and ICD codes for cases of moderate to high complexity.
• Review provider documentation, infusion records, and surgical reports to allocate CPT codes.
• Conduct ICD and CPT coding for professional services and confirm charge information.
• Apply modifiers and prioritize CPT codes when multiple codes are applicable.
• Assign Evaluation and Management (E/M) codes.
• Reconcile charges to guarantee all charges are documented.
• Input charges into relevant billing systems, either manually or automatically.
• Investigate and analyze coding and payer-specific concerns.
• Process charges efficiently and coordinate with team members and practice management.
• Engage with providers regarding moderately to highly complex coding matters, including clarifying coding rationales and offering education.
• A coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of coding experience is essential.
• CPC or an equivalent coding credential is required.
• Maintenance of coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA) is necessary.
• In-depth understanding of coding, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payer-specific coding, bundling, and modifier regulations.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Capability to work Monday through Friday, first shift, totaling 40 hours per week.
