This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +4 more states.
β’ Support the training of clinicians and coders while facilitating ongoing educational initiatives within the department.
β’ Aid in the identification, development, and delivery of both new and continuous educational programs for clinicians regarding coding and clinical documentation enhancement opportunities.
β’ Perform independent and collaborative reviews and audits of clinicians and coders.
β’ Supply documentation that substantiates the coding review activities.
β’ Provide educational guidance to clinicians and coders based on the outcomes of reviews and audits.
β’ Upon hiring: National Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders.
β’ Upon hiring: National Certified Coding Associate from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ Upon hiring: National Certified Coding Specialist from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ Upon hiring: National Certified Coding Specialist - Physician from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ Upon hiring: National Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ Upon hiring: National Certified Health Data Analyst from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ Upon hiring: National Registered Health Information Administrator from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ Upon hiring: National Registered Health Information Technician from the American Health Information Management Association.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical insurance reimbursement, medical billing, and coding related to charge review and work RVUs.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in reviewing patient account information, insurance explanations of benefits, and financial records.
β’ An Associate's Degree is preferred.
