
Coding Analyst, Part Time – Day Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Assign the correct ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various outpatient visit types.
• Allocate Evaluation and Management codes for physician interactions.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of medical records and relevant documentation.
• Code diagnoses, procedures, as well as evaluation and management services.
• Work in collaboration with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and other clinical departments.
• Analyze health record documentation to accurately report diagnoses and procedures.
• Utilize ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, Coding Clinic, Coding Clinic for HCPCs, CPT Assistant, along with coding conventions and instructional notes.
• Resolve claim failures related to NCCI, NCD/LCD, and other outpatient edits.
• Achieve minimum standards for coding productivity and quality.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute healthcare environment.
• Certification in RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC.
• Membership in AHIMA or AAPC.
• A commitment to part-time work of 20 hours per week.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding.
• Familiarity with HCPC Level I and II procedural codes.
• Understanding of NCD/LCD and NCCI edits.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Achieve a minimum coding accuracy of 95%.
• Ability to meet set coding productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Must reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Missouri.
