This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Timely and accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT coding.

• Classify payment groups and abstract data for reimbursement and statistical reporting purposes.

• Analyze and interpret patient records from inpatient, outpatient, ancillary, diagnostics, emergency medicine, and other sources.

• Conduct coding and abstracting to facilitate billing, ensure data quality, and produce statistics related to severity of illness and mortality risk reporting.

• Utilize diagnostic reports, lab results, physicians' orders, and medication documentation following Official Coding Guidelines.

• Extract relevant data, ascertain and arrange diagnosis and procedure codes, and input information into the computerized coding and abstracting system.

• Employ the coding and abstracting system for communication, account holds, management inquiries, and queries.

• Deliver coded and abstracted data for final coding and billing while meeting productivity standards.

• Review and revise patient demographic and abstracted data acquired through HL7.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required experience in Acute Care and Inpatient Procedure Coding.

• Necessary ICD-10-PCS Inpatient Procedure Coding experience in an acute care facility.

• Familiarity with ICD-10-PCS Inpatient Procedure Coding and CPT Coding Guidelines and Principles.

• A College Diploma in Medical Coding or at least one year of coding experience in a healthcare setting is required.

• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

• Working knowledge of pathophysiology and fundamental pharmacology.

• Acquainted with Official Inpatient and Outpatient Coding Guidelines.

• An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology is preferred.
