This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide professional development for educators and leaders in both online and face-to-face settings
• Create, revise, and test educational materials for teachers and students
• Organize and conduct tailored training sessions for partner districts
• Develop instructional content, including model activities, lessons, and units
• Demonstrate teaching methods and content-focused activities for NMSI stakeholders
• Offer feedback and insights from training sessions to enhance future programming
• Act as an ambassador for NMSI, promoting its mission and values among schools, teachers, and students
• Advocate for NMSI within professional networks and assist in recruiting coaches as necessary
• Execute other assigned responsibilities
• Report to a Manager of Program Design & Innovation
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in a specific K–12 content area or grade level
• Extensive knowledge of content, pedagogy, and instructional methodologies
• Strong understanding of state and national teaching standards related to college readiness, including AP assessment standards, Common Core State Standards, and NGSS
• Proven comprehension of effective teaching practices and school leadership
• Dedication to providing rigorous, high-quality instruction
• Ability to facilitate learning experiences using an online learning management system such as Maple, Canvas, or Google Classroom
• Competence in navigating and creating course content within an LMS
• Skill in designing engaging learning experiences with content authoring tools like Articulate
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Capacity to provide clear, direct, and constructive feedback
• Comfort in working within a dynamic environment with competing priorities
• Openness to learning from challenges and both giving and receiving feedback
• Commitment to continuous professional development in adult learning and facilitation
• Ability to lead up to 100+ hours of teacher- or leader-focused events throughout the program year
• Flexibility and availability to assist with school-day events as needed is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Candidates must successfully complete county, state, and federal-level criminal background checks as a condition of employment
• Preferred: Experience in STEM-focused learning, work in high-need schools or with underserved populations, a track record of enhancing student achievement, AP Reader experience, and experience in coaching teachers and facilitating professional development
• Collaborate and learn with exceptional coaches in your subject area
• Develop effective strategies and best practices for facilitating adult learning
• Act as a STEM literacy advocate and contribute to the advancement of high-quality instruction
• Participate in the creation of curricular materials utilized by a national audience
• Establish a robust national network of educator colleagues and professional connections
