CNC Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Travel to client locations to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine-tool equipment and controls.

• Utilize online technical documents, manuals, and vendor resources to investigate machine-related issues.

• Accurately document and report on machine issues, repairs, and installation status to both the office and clients.

• Advocate for and perform preventative maintenance on customer machine-tool equipment.

• Provide after-sales technical support and training.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the machine-tool industry and the product lines represented by the company.

• Directly report to the Service Manager.

• Travel and drive within a designated regional territory, with daily dispatch from home.

• Carry out related tasks as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical or electrical repair or engineering is preferred.

• A background in CNC repair is advantageous.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and schematics is essential.

• Experience with Microsoft Office and other software applications is a plus.

• Exceptional technical, communication, and presentation skills are required.

• Capability to operate a laptop, smartphone, and various software programs.

• Ability to regularly lift 40–50 pounds, and up to 50 pounds with assistance from tools or colleagues.

• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel frequently within a regional territory.

• Capacity to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic customer job sites.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in confined or challenging spaces.

• Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for accurate electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic tasks.

• Capacity to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Must be highly mobile and able to access all areas of the premises.

• Ability to maintain focus while juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities.
