Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will be responsible for designing the security framework for our cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and other service providers.

• You will take technical responsibility for cloud security issues, establish clear standards, and collaborate with platform and product teams to implement enduring security measures.

• You will develop and enhance security standards for cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and other hosting services.

• You will oversee AWS security and compliance, ensure regulatory requirements are met, and identify potential risks before they escalate.

• In close partnership with infrastructure, platform, and development teams, as well as our security organization, you will integrate security requirements directly into architecture, operations, and development workflows.

• You will assess and enhance cloud resources by applying secure Infrastructure-as-Code principles proactively, rather than reactively.

• You will safeguard container and Kubernetes environments, virtual machines, and essential infrastructure components.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in IT, cloud computing, or security-related disciplines.

• Extensive experience in cloud security, AWS security and compliance, and managing multi-cloud environments.

• Proficiency in network security, endpoint protection, web application firewalls, and Infrastructure-as-Code security (Terraform).

• Knowledge of container and Kubernetes security, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), and Identity & Access Management (IAM).

• Familiarity with Policy-as-Code (OPA/Kyverno), cloud-native detection tools (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty), and CI/CD security (Tekton).

• A strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for risks, structured working methods, a solid understanding of compliance, and a pragmatic, solution-focused approach in complex cloud environments.

• Proficient in German and capable of communicating effectively in English within an international setting.
