This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Construct and manage essential public cloud platform foundations that support application workloads.
• Design and sustain cloud landing zones, account/subscription architectures, and foundational configurations.
• Provision and oversee shared platform services, which encompass network hubs, identity integrations, and management groups.
• Establish cloud IAM policies, role-based access control, and federated identity integration.
• Automate workflows for identity provisioning and access management.
• Develop and sustain cloud networking elements, including VNets/VPCs, routing, DNS, gateways, and private endpoints.
• Facilitate hub-and-spoke and private connectivity to on-premises systems.
• Create and maintain Terraform templates and modules.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for platform provisioning and automation processes.
• Contribute to automation scripts, tools, and internal platform utilities.
• Enhance self-service capabilities for application and product teams.
• Ensure daily platform operations and incident response.
• Apply patches, upgrades, and perform maintenance on platform components.
• Aid in onboarding new cloud environments and accounts/subscriptions.
• Keep engineering documentation, runbooks, and platform patterns up to date.
• Collaborate with Security, FinOps, and Platform Services teams regarding operational and governance controls.
• Implement new platform features and architectural improvements.
• Enhance automation, self-service, and developer experience.
• Refactor platform components to boost security, scalability, and reliability.
• Report to the Cloud Platform & Services Operations Manager.
• Intermediate or advanced cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, or OCI (beyond Fundamentals level).
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
• Proficient in Azure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and identity fundamentals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Background in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering settings.
• Experience within ITIL frameworks.
• Capability to automate repetitive tasks using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of cloud governance fundamentals, including tagging, policies, and cost management.
• Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
• Ability to adhere to architectural standards and engineering directives.
• Clear communication skills with engineering and operations teams.
• Desirable: Experience in designing or supporting enterprise network environments, including routing, firewalls, DNS, and private connectivity.
• Desirable: Experience managing Windows Server environments, including Active Directory integration, patching, and hardening.
• Desirable: Experience managing Unix/Linux systems, including RHEL, Ubuntu, or SUSE.
• Desirable: Familiarity with container platforms and Kubernetes.
• Desirable: Experience with integrating monitoring and observability tools.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK is required.
• Must currently possess SC-level or higher national security vetting clearance, NPPV Level 3, or be able to acquire Enhanced Security Clearance.
• Satisfactory vetting, references, and occupational health checks are mandatory.
