Cloud Operations Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee, sustain, and provide support for production infrastructure that serves both customers and internal development teams.

• Take part in a 24/7 on-call rotation, acting as the primary responder to alerts and incidents.

• Respond to and prioritize production alerts as the initial defense line.

• Diagnose and resolve issues utilizing runbooks and documentation, escalating with context when needed.

• Implement incident management protocols, which include establishing communication channels and documenting timelines.

• Actively monitor system health and performance through observability dashboards and tools.

• Track usage against service quotas and consumption limits to avert service interruptions and cost overruns.

• Enhance and maintain operational documentation and monitoring dashboards.

• Conduct routine maintenance, system patching, security updates, and infrastructure provisioning using predefined Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules.

• Manage user access for development tools through ticket-based onboarding and offboarding processes.

• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as a primary responder.

• Proven experience in responding to and triaging production alerts within a cloud environment.

• Capacity to adhere to technical runbooks and standard operating procedures with meticulous attention to detail.

• Skill in updating and maintaining runbooks and SOPs in clear and concise English.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and providing clear context for escalations.

• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, and security groups.

• Azure experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Azure Monitor, or Grafana.

• Strong written English communication skills for documenting incident timelines and updating procedures.

• Preferred experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.

• Experience in configuring management tools and automated patching.

• Knowledge of managing user access and permissions within cloud platforms or development tools.

• Basic scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for routine task automation.

• Previous experience in a dedicated operations, NOC, or service desk environment.
