Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Support project and deployment activities for Managed Services client onboarding and technology initiatives.

• Collaborate with new clients to comprehend their architecture, implement CyberSheath solutions, and identify technology gaps.

• Oversee, assist, and migrate or deploy client IT systems as part of a project team.

• Provision and deliver both on-premise and cloud-hosted computing systems and services.

• Execute Office 365 and Azure migrations while implementing Azure technologies.

• Design and implement secure Office 365 and Azure cloud solutions.

• Configure and manage Intune device enrollment, compliance policies, and endpoint management.

• Administer, patch, and support Linux server environments across both on-premise and cloud platforms.

• Troubleshoot Linux systems, services, networking, users, permissions, packages, systemd, and shell scripts.

• Apply Linux hardening and patch management in accordance with DIB and CMMC standards.

• Provision, configure, and support AWS workloads, including EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC networking.

• Assist with AWS migrations and ongoing operations, including AWS GovCloud where applicable.

• Support multi-cloud Azure and AWS environments while ensuring security and operational standards are met.

• Conduct architecture, design, system evaluation, analysis, and infrastructure assessments.

• Deploy and maintain endpoint protection, vulnerability management, log collection, MFA, RMM, and related tools.

• Document activities, case notes, and time entries in the Service Desk Ticketing system.

• Complete technical implementation tasks within budgeted deadlines.

• Coordinate with CyberSheath stakeholders to ensure tasks and timelines remain on schedule and within budget.

• Provide project updates and feedback to internal teams and clients.

• Communicate proactively with clients and work collaboratively on onboarding implementation challenges.

• Perform other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in System Administration.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Azure Administration, Server Management, Active Directory, Group Policy, deployments, and migrations.

• Hands-on experience with Linux system administration, specifically RHEL/CentOS/Rocky and/or Ubuntu.

• Linux expertise including user management, package management, shell scripting, and patching.

• Working knowledge of AWS core services: EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC.

• Intermediate networking experience, including TCP/IP, routing, SSH, and VPN.

• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting.

• Knowledge of security tools such as EDR, SIEM, MFA, DLP, and AIP.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills to effectively manage and prioritize workloads.

• Ability to lead technical discussions with clients and CyberSheath staff.

• Proven capability to work in a team setting.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside within the United States or its Territories.

• Preferred: experience with Government-specific Office 365, Azure, or AWS, including AWS GovCloud.

• Preferred: familiarity with ConnectWise products.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Preferred: Microsoft Azure certifications AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400.

• Preferred: AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.

• Preferred: CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA, Network+, Security+, or CCSP certifications.

• Willingness to participate in on-call, shift, weekend, and evening work as needed.
