This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +21 more states.
• Oversee the technical design and execution of advanced cloud engineering projects across various teams.
• Create and develop scalable cloud architecture and infrastructure.
• Offer domain expertise in application infrastructure, cloud architecture, and platform engineering.
• Design and manage public and private cloud infrastructure along with management platforms.
• Propel infrastructure automation and strategies for streamlining development, deployment, and operational needs.
• Guide the deployment strategy and manage capacity planning.
• Evaluate cloud infrastructure usage to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Convert business and technical requirements into cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions.
• Counsel teams and stakeholders on cloud configuration, architecture, and migration strategies.
• Implement security standards for cloud infrastructure, production access, and change management.
• Identify and mitigate both technical and operational risks.
• Enhance the availability, performance, scalability, and stability of systems and services on a large scale.
• Assess cloud platforms, technologies, and engineering methodologies, recommending improvements.
• Communicate technical trade-offs and align architecture, priorities, and results with cross-functional partners.
• Mentor engineers and disseminate cloud engineering, automation, security, and operational best practices.
• Monitor cloud technologies, industry trends, and emerging engineering practices to inform technical strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience, or PhD with 3+ years of related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based software, systems, or platform solutions.
• Proven experience in designing and managing cloud infrastructure for availability, performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Experience leading the technical design and deployment of complex cloud engineering projects across multiple teams.
• Background in infrastructure automation, deployment strategies, capacity planning, or optimizing cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with public or private cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, and automated deployment practices.
• Experience in infrastructure cost analysis, capacity planning, performance optimization, and managing highly available systems at scale.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices, production access controls, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Experience in providing technical leadership and mentorship, influencing cloud architecture and engineering decisions.
