Cloud Engineering Lead Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of, develop, implement, and manage Allstate's cloud platforms.

• Create, build, manage, and deploy self-service tools for cloud-native application development, deployment, and operations.

• Serve as the cornerstone for shared and collective team knowledge regarding owned and managed systems.

• Guide engineering teams in the creation of new platform products and services.

• Ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are fulfilled for operational tasks and customer requests.

• Enhance system and team efficiency through effective engineering practices.

• Establish practices for paired programming, test-driven development, infrastructure engineering, and continuous delivery.

• Advise on and uphold technology-related policies and procedures.

• Diagnose availability and performance issues across hardware, operating environments, networks, and application layers.

• Design, build, manage, and operate infrastructure-as-a-service layers and cloud-based platforms.

• Create, manage, and operate continuous delivery frameworks and tools.

• Automate the lifecycle of platform components and act as a subject matter expert in CI/CD.

• Design and maintain platform infrastructure and application environments utilizing infrastructure as code.

• Analyze performance, demand, and capacity trends to formulate scalability plans.

• Integrate components and develop services that focus on open-source solutions.

• Create log analytics and logging-as-a-service solutions.

• Develop monitoring solutions employing tools such as Graphite, ELK, Datadog, and New Relic.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in cloud applications, cloud engineering, and cloud platform management.

• Familiarity with continuous delivery and continuous integration software.

• Experience with the Python programming language.

• Background in software development.

• Knowledge of Terraform.

• Must be willing to undergo a background investigation.

• Proper desk and seating arrangements are necessary while working from home.

• Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is essential.
