Cloud Engineer, OCI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provision, configure, and manage OCI Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, and associated resources.

• Monitor the health, performance, capacity utilization, alerts, and infrastructure issues within the OCI environment.

• Assist with OCI migrations, including lift-and-shift workloads, resource optimization, and post-migration validation.

• Implement and uphold OCI security measures, including Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, and NSG policies.

• Carry out infrastructure patching, operating system updates, and upgrades to OCI platform services.

• Support backup, restoration, disaster recovery, cross-region replication, and DR/COOP failover testing.

• Collaborate with the DevSecOps Lead on Terraform infrastructure-as-code templates.

• Document OCI configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

• Assist in OCI architecture decisions and the transition from legacy Oracle products to OCI-native solutions.

• Engage in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and refinement of the infrastructure backlog.

• Aid cybersecurity personnel in monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and collection of ATO evidence.

• Support service management, onboarding, provisioning of mission partner environments, and management of access control.

• Monitor and address service quota limits, cost irregularities, and tenancy governance requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent work experience will be considered.

• 3–5 years of practical experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration.

• An active Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification is required upon hiring.

• Experience in provisioning and managing OCI tenancies, compartments, VCNs, and IAM policies.

• Proficiency with OCI Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, Monitoring, Cloud Guard, Security Zones, OCI Vault, and network security groups.

• Experience with backup/restore processes, capacity management, and cloud infrastructure patching.

• Familiarity with DoD RMF, ATO processes, and cloud security compliance standards.

• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to begin and must be maintained throughout the program.

• An active DoD 8140/8570 IAT-II or higher certification is required at the time of hiring.

• Acceptable certifications include CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, GICSP, CND, or IAT-III equivalents such as CASP+ CE, CISSP, CISA, CCNP Security, GCED, or GCIH.

• Preferred: An active Top Secret clearance.

• Preferred: Experience in Linux server administration, including RHEL or Oracle Linux, hardening, scripting, and performance tuning.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Docker, Kubernetes, Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, GoldenGate, Active Data Guard, OCI DevOps, OKE, OCI Artifact Registry, OCI Resource Manager, DISA/Cloud One environments, ITIL, DESMF, and DoD ERP programs.
