This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and maintain the architecture of a comprehensive data warehouse for the program.
• Oversee data warehouse project initiatives to ensure that requirements, timelines, and deliverables are successfully achieved.
• Conduct unit, validation, and regression testing.
• Ensure that the delivered code aligns with user specifications.
• Offer technical architecture insights for planning, estimation, and solution design.
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to define requirements and validate testing methodologies.
• Create scalable, multi-layer warehouse patterns encompassing landing, transformed, standardized, curated, and analytics layers.
• Model and integrate healthcare data domains utilizing X12, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, NDC, DRG, HL7, and FHIR standards.
• Develop data structures and features that facilitate fraud, waste, and abuse analytics, ensuring full data lineage.
• Enforce HIPAA-compliant governance for PHI/PII, including RBAC/ABAC, masking, row-level security, tagging, auditing, and lineage tracking.
• Contribute to System Design Documents, data dictionaries, and source-to-target mappings.
• Architect both normalized and denormalized data solutions adhering to design best practices.
• Design and implement scheduling workflows and automation processes.
• Promote continuous enhancement of processes, tools, and engineering methodologies.
• Support the mission of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by assisting in the fight against healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse.
• Travel required is less than 10%.
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
• More than 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in designing scalable data warehouse environments.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and data modeling principles.
• Familiarity with Kimball and Inmon data warehousing methodologies.
• Proficient in Snowflake healthcare data warehouse architecture.
• Experience in cloud data engineering with Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data protection measures, including least-privilege access, role- and attribute-based access controls, encryption, audit logging, secure data sharing, retention policies, and incident-response support.
• Proficient in using Git-based repositories like Bitbucket, CodeCommit, and GitHub.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines across development, testing, and production environments.
• Experience with cloud data processing services.
• Understanding of serverless architecture.
• Experience in automated testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to take ownership and accountability for projects.
• Capacity to rapidly learn new technologies.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with healthcare claims data.
• Experience with Hadoop, EMR, Redshift, and Databricks.
• Experience in developing fraud, waste, and abuse analytics.
• Knowledge of HIPAA governance frameworks regarding PHI/PII.
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts.
• Experience in designing investigator-ready datasets with complete traceability.
• Working knowledge of healthcare data domains, including medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility and enrollment, provider, member/patient, encounters, authorization, and payment data.
