This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the daily performance, resources, task prioritization, and metrics of the department.
• Supervise the daily workload and operations of the team.
• Recruit, coach, and develop team members, which includes training and managing performance.
• Facilitate effective communication and act as an escalation or strategic contact.
• Lead or engage in cross-functional initiatives aimed at process improvement.
• Create training plans and materials for onboarding and enhancing employee performance.
• Offer coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and career development plans.
• Collaborate with HR on talent management, employee relations, and developmental activities.
• Investigate requirements for clinical trial testing and identify suitable testing facilities.
• Review and prepare pricing documents, rectifying any discrepancies.
• Maintain relationships with ACM and referral laboratories.
• Provide scientific and technical information for client RFPs and RFIs.
• Coordinate testing methods and document referred testing information throughout active trials.
• Relay information between Laboratory Operations and Sales.
• Alert leadership regarding issues related to studies, testing, and referral laboratories.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement enhanced work methods.
• Liaise with both internal and external partners and participate in client teleconferences.
• Provide consultation and serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for both internal and external clients.
• Update global SOPs and maintain necessary templates and tools.
• Assess upcoming work and determine staffing capabilities and workload.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or at least 3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• A minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience within a clinical or relevant regulated environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Generalist laboratory experience.
• Ability to lead and positively motivate team members.
