
Clinical Sales Manager, Western Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance sales revenue and test volume by establishing new business within hospitals and increasing volume in current hospital accounts.
• Present Karius’s cutting-edge sequencing diagnostic technology to hospital stakeholders involved in diagnostic-test decision-making.
• Collaborate with teams across Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and Product leadership.
• Cultivate thought leaders and early adopters for Karius’s innovative approach to infectious disease diagnostics.
• Develop, manage, and nurture a regional territory encompassing hospital and health-system accounts.
• Prioritize and segment accounts for optimal opportunity and growth potential.
• Demonstrate product features and advantages through consultative selling techniques, including qualifying leads, assessing needs, supporting evaluations, and closing sales.
• Oversee early evaluations, facilitate initial adoption, and drive increased utilization of Karius tests and solutions.
• Act as a subject-matter expert on the science, technology, merits, value, and unique aspects of the Karius test.
• Build relationships, educate stakeholders, and foster consensus among prospective and existing partners.
• Showcase ROI, maintain regular interactions with partners, and conduct utilization reviews.
• Secure contracts, agreements, and renewals with partners.
• Provide market insights to Sales, Marketing, and Product leadership.
• Collaborate and co-present with Clinical/Medical Affairs teams, including Medical Science Liaisons, during remote and in-person interactions.
• Work with Customer Success to onboard accounts, address risks and concerns, manage expectations, and monitor partner health.
• Identify and co-manage regional meetings, KOL panels, and local market activities in partnership with Marketing.
• Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, conventions, and industry trade shows.
• Complete Salesforce documentation, expense reports, speaker-program details, and other administrative tasks.
• Report directly to the Regional Sales Director.
• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• 5 years of experience in sales/business development within the Life Sciences / Biotech, Medical Device, Diagnostic Equipment, and/or Pharmaceutical industries.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Proven success in introducing transformational, novel products or services to physicians and hospitals that have changed clinical practices.
• Extensive network of relationships within hospitals and health systems, including microbiology labs, send-out labs, physician groups, C-level executives, and clinical-function administrators.
• Strong vision and planning skills to drive growth within the territory.
• Excellent business acumen, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to foster relationships from C-level executives to physicians and lab directors, building credibility through expertise in the field.
• Proven track record of achieving top sales performance and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in multi-level account management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment.
• Willingness to collaborate with customer-facing teams and share best practices.
• Ability to prioritize, allocate resources, take accountability, and achieve results.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills; capable of leading discussions with both small and large groups.
• High ethical standards, integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to cultivate trusting professional relationships.

• Willingness to travel up to 70%.
