Clinical Safety Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct clinical risk evaluations for assigned products

• Assist in the investigation, prioritization, and resolution of clinical safety incidents

• Participate in root cause analysis and the planning of corrective actions

• Serve as the clinical safety lead for specific projects

• Maintain and refresh Clinical Safety Files and associated documentation

• Ensure that products and services adhere to relevant clinical safety standards and regulations

• Support clinical safety and regulatory efforts related to Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), including CEPs, CERs, and post-market surveillance

• Collaborate with clinicians, product teams, and technical staff to ensure the safe development of systems

• Foster awareness of clinical safety best practices throughout the organization

• Aid in audits, safety reporting, and governance initiatives

• Participate in the on-call rotation, providing clinical safety guidance as needed

• Contribute to assessments of patient safety, hazard logs, and safety cases

⛳️ Requirements

• Registered healthcare professional

• At least five years of clinical experience in NHS or private healthcare environments

• Knowledge of DCB0129 and DCB0160 Clinical Safety Standards

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)

• Completion of or willingness to pursue an accredited Clinical Safety Officer course

• Experience in NHS informatics or digital healthcare sectors

• Understanding of healthcare technology systems and clinical workflows

• Knowledge of project management principles and system development lifecycles

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities

• Capability to handle competing priorities and make well-informed decisions
