This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Conduct independent consultations with patients using video, telephone, and asynchronous digital platforms.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage both acute and minor illness cases.
• Prescribe independently within the scope of practice in line with GPhC standards and clinical governance requirements.
• Review clinical data and make safe asynchronous prescribing decisions when appropriate.
• Identify the limitations of practice and refer patients as necessary.
• Provide high-quality, patient-focused care while upholding excellent patient experience standards.
• Keep accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical records.
• Engage in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and reviews of significant events.
• Promote safe prescribing practices and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Participate in peer reviews, supervision, and continuous professional development.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Share expertise in pharmacy and provide evidence-based guidance to colleagues.
• Contribute to service improvements, pathway development, and innovation projects.
• Attend team meetings, educational events, and clinical updates.
• Identify, respond to, and escalate safeguarding concerns following established procedures and legislation.
• Assist in the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and relevant national guidelines.
• MPharm degree (or equivalent qualification).
• Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Qualified Independent Prescriber with the annotation noted on the GPhC register.
• At least 1 year of independent prescribing experience.
• Capable of prescribing autonomously from the first day.
• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in a primary care environment.
• Proven experience in managing minor illnesses and undifferentiated presentations autonomously.
• Experience in independent prescribing within a primary care setting.
• Familiarity with conducting remote consultations via phone and video.
• Strong knowledge of GPhC standards, prescribing governance, and patient safety requirements.
• Understanding of clinical governance principles in digital healthcare settings.
• Awareness of safe practices for remote consultations and prescribing.
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to accurately and professionally document consultations.
• Proficient in using clinical systems and digital healthcare platforms.
• Capability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Satisfactory identity verification, professional registration checks, references, and enhanced DBS check where applicable.
