Clinical Nurse Liaison – GI/IBD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Coordinate and deliver patient care services as a member of the Clinic Solutions Team.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for physicians, clinic nurses, and patients.

• Offer tailored administrative and clinical support for physicians while managing patient onboarding.

• Facilitate care coordination between healthcare professionals, patient support programs, and pharmacies.

• Engage with patients, insurance providers, provincial drug programs, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals to secure medication coverage.

• Deliver injection training and educate patients on disease states and medications.

• Execute healthcare provider and patient registration activities in accordance with established protocols.

• Carry out essential data entry tasks.

• Inform patients and healthcare providers about inflammatory bowel disease, advanced drug therapies, and disease management.

• Assist physicians with paperwork related to patient support programs and follow up on reimbursement or coverage submissions.

• Aid physicians and patients with renewal requests and coverage modifications.

• Counsel and educate patients undergoing biologic and targeted IBD therapies on administration, adherence, monitoring, and potential adverse effects.

• Promote effective communication among physicians, Patient Support Programs, and healthcare professionals.

• Conduct chart reviews for special authorization forms.

• Oversee medication fulfillment in collaboration with Sentrex Pharmacy.

• Participate in specialized training sessions for particular therapies.

• Provide both in-person and virtual support, including adherence assistance.

• Review patient records and document treatment histories.

• Ensure confidentiality of patient and corporate information.

• Administer IM and SC medications in a specialty clinic setting as necessary.

• Offer virtual oversight and education for home injection procedures.

• Monitor patients post-injection and document all completed activities.

• Report and document adverse events in accordance with pharmacovigilance standards.

• Comply with professional nursing standards and Sentrex policies and procedures.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2-4 years of clinical experience in GI/IBD is preferred.

• Must be a licensed RN or LPN in British Columbia.

• Liability Insurance is required.

• CPR and First-Aid certification are mandatory.

• An ACLS certificate is necessary.

• A valid and unrestricted driver’s license is required.

• Must be able to confidently provide patient self-injection education.

• Experience in critical care, emergency, and acute care is highly advantageous.

• Proficient and experienced with Excel, Outlook, and Word.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as part of a larger remote team.

• Willingness to travel within a defined geographical area as needed.

• Experience in Patient Support Programs is a significant asset.

• Background in Neurology, Immunology, Oncology, Gastroenterology, or Rheumatology is a strong asset.

• Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is beneficial.

• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities are essential.

• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are necessary.

• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to patient and healthcare provider requirements.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the capacity to effectively and efficiently resolve issues.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Must adhere to Sentrex Policies and Procedures.
