Clinical Geneticist – Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform virtual genetic evaluations and consultations for adult patients.

• Conduct around 12 new patient consultations weekly along with 11–12 follow-up visits each week.

• Examine medical records and family histories.

• Order necessary genetic tests and complete laboratory requisitions.

• Analyze genetic test results and relay findings to patients and healthcare providers.

• Formulate and convey treatment and management recommendations.

• Record all interactions in the VA electronic health record within stipulated timeframes.

• Monitor the completion of ordered genetic tests and document any tests that are not completed.

• Collaborate with referring providers and VA clinical teams to coordinate care.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, and case discussions.

• Uphold board certification, fulfill CME requirements, and maintain clinical privileges.

• Deliver telehealth services to eligible beneficiaries of the VA Genomic Medicine Program across the nation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Physician Geneticist as recognized by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).

• Possess an active, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

• No record of suspended, revoked, restricted, or surrendered professional licenses.

• Hold an active AHA BLS certification.

• Provide an NPI report printout.

• Maintain an active DEA license.

• Capable of passing a federal background investigation.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach overhead throughout the work shift.

• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist level.

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

• Capability to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.

• Strength to push/pull with 30 lbs of force.

• Must have resided continuously in the United States for the three years preceding appointment at a federal facility.
