This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Assess clinical compliance and quality across all facets of clinical operations.
• Supervise and facilitate local orientation and ongoing continuing education for clinical team members.
• Create and support scenario and clinical content for new hires and recurring clinical staff.
• Guide clinicians who are placed on clinical education plans.
• Coordinate activities that support accreditation and reaccreditation processes.
• Engage in air medical research initiatives.
• Direct the orientation for new employees, including scheduling and base assignments.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to orientees and preceptors, including area-specific training on local protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with RCEM and RCD regarding the clinical preceptorship of new employees.
• Maintain shared regional educational resources to enhance clinical quality.
• Instruct and assess clinical competency in simulation labs, invasive labs, and various learning technology programs.
• Spearhead content development and continuing education for compliance with accrediting, regulatory, and credentialing standards.
• Assist in management decisions impacting clinical practice and plan educational programs for new and evolving care initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of clinical-quality policies and procedures.
• Create simulation and learning-technology scenarios.
• Evaluate teammate performance using objective, evidence-based assessment tools and statistical analysis.
• Analyze regional educational needs and requirements for programs acquired by Air Methods.
• Lead annual competency training, protocol testing, and initial training for new equipment and procedures.
• Assist in formulating and revising medical standards and guidelines.
• Support the maintenance of accreditation and reaccreditation.
• Help with region-specific Training Blueprint guidance.
• Participate in committees and workgroups to drive improvements in patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), along with five or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of four years of previous flight experience.
• At least two years of educational/instructor experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
• Experience with high-fidelity simulation is preferred.
• Subject-matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: ventilation, airway management, mechanical circulatory devices, resuscitation, high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, or neonatal management.
• Capability to participate in and rotate as administrator on call for specialty equipment and high-risk patient populations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficiency in Smartsheet or other software as a service (SaaS).
• Current Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic Specialty certification in compliance with CAMTS standards.
• CFRN or FP-C certification is required.
• Must hold at least one current instructor card, such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, ITLS, TNCC, or TNATC.
• Must achieve instructor status for all AHA-required courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within three months of hire.
