Clinical Applications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical and clinical training and education for surgeons and their support teams regarding the approved use of Alcon Cataract, Refractive, and Glaucoma surgical device products, both in-person and virtually.

• Conduct training sessions and document activities in accordance with product work instructions.

• Provide ongoing in-person and virtual clinical support within the designated territory.

• Convey complex topics to ophthalmic surgeons utilizing innovative technologies.

• Educate and support Alcon Digital Health SaaS solutions, including cloud and DICOM platforms, as well as integrations with third-party devices.

• Participate in and facilitate demonstrations at conventions, Medical Congresses, fellowships, conferences, exhibits, seminars, and wet labs as a subject matter expert.

• Offer constructive feedback to R&D regarding the development and testing of new technologies and software.

• Assist with the on-the-job training of new Clinical Applications Specialist associates.

• Align the clinical training needs of the territory with the commercial business objectives through Strategic Account Management principles.

• Fulfill administrative duties, maintain internal systems, manage expenses, and report adverse events and device deficiencies.

• Work in collaboration with Field Service Engineers, Digital Engineers, Commercial teams, IT, Service Operations, and the Clinical Team on installations, site support, and troubleshooting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs).

• 2 Years of Relevant Experience.

• Proficient in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English.

• Capability to work with minimal supervision.

• Strong strategic planning abilities.

• Excellent teamwork skills.

• Outstanding organizational skills.

• Skills for cross-functional interaction.

• Willingness to travel 85% of the time.

• Ability to achieve and retain certifications on all Alcon products trained on through annual recertification.

• Ability to manage expenses and identify/report adverse events and device deficiencies in accordance with company protocols.
