Client Funds Accounting Specialist – Tax

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Reconcile all funds accounts held by clients for Paylocity.

• Conduct daily reconciliation for payroll, tax, and benefit bank accounts.

• Review and confirm deposits, withdrawals, and other banking transactions.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies among bank statements, cash balance accounts, and outstanding items.

• Monitor daily and weekly cash balances for each client as well as across the entire client base.

• Ensure timely remittances and accurate recording and clearing of cash collections.

• Make cash adjustments based on generated reports.

• Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate system corrections.

• Liaise with the bank regarding returned items and inquiries.

• Report exceptions related to payroll, tax, and benefits for further review and resolution.

• Reconcile incoming wires and ACH transactions for payroll and tax accounts.

• Review and reconcile credits for clients.

• Provide payment proofs to the Tax Department.

• Assist with monthly financial reconciliations.

• Oversee incoming emails to the CFA team and ensure timely responses.

• Propose and document procedures to enhance processes.

• Support ongoing process improvements.

• Assist with initiatives related to new business.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

• A high school diploma is required.

• 2-5 years of experience in payroll services or banking operations is strongly desired.

• Familiarity with MasterTax, WEX, or CobraPoint is a plus.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• A strong work ethic, both as a team member and individually, is preferred.

• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Access.

• High level of integrity.

• Availability five days a week during designated work hours.

• Capability to sit for prolonged periods, typically 7-8 hours daily.

• Ability to operate computer and phone systems and to type.

• Must work within the U.S.
