Client Account Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Create, analyze, manage, and provide comprehensive reports for bank and insurance company owned life insurance (BOLI & ICOLI) policies for designated clients.

• Foster and sustain a thorough understanding of each client’s reporting requirements.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to products, policy values, crediting rates, and other reporting information.

• Prepare, review, and deliver all reports to clients.

• Conduct quality control checks and communicate client satisfaction and relevant concerns to the supervisor and Relationship Manager.

• Cultivate and maintain awareness of trends within each client’s BOLI/ICOLI portfolio.

• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and draw insightful conclusions.

• Develop methodologies for regular yield analysis and identify changes within the portfolio.

• Execute financial functions and manipulate Excel cells, including IRR and VLOOKUP.

• Generate ad hoc schedules and reports as requested by clients.

• Resolve intricate issues and enhance processes.

• Stay informed about the proprietary BOLI/ICOLI administration system.

• Aid in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of regulatory requirements.

• Contribute to executive-level reports, materials, and administrative standards.

• Maintain knowledge of day-to-day workflow processes for assigned client plans.

• Facilitate communication among business lines represented in Ascensus’ Newport team.

• Engage in defining department standards, processes, and procedures.

• Protect, secure, and appropriately manage confidential client information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of overall experience within the banking or insurance sectors or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.

• Familiarity with Crystal Reports.

• Possession of a Life Insurance license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.

• Preferred in-depth knowledge of accounting principles.

• Capability to handle substantial volumes of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with sensitivity.

• Understanding of general accounts, separate accounts, and hybrid account insurance policies.

• Comprehensive knowledge of separate account BOLI/ICOLI policies and associated stable value features.

• Awareness of product mortality treatment features.

• Ability to read and interpret life insurance policy and related document provisions.

• Understanding of accounting concepts.

• Familiarity with tax, regulatory, and GAAP standards affecting BOLI/ICOLI.

• Strong grasp of time value of money principles.

• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.

• Effective collaborative communication and knowledge-sharing skills.
